Years of Isolation

A need for self protection

more fierce, more essential

than life itself.

The consuming energy of keeping her heart safe.

The waning strength to keep the walls fortified.

To give without receiving.

To live without wanting

A game of survival that she only knew

how to play alone.

  1. You’re so interesting! I don’t believe I have read through a single
thing like this before. So wonderful to discover another person with a few genuine thoughts on this issue.
Really.. thank you for starting this up. This web site is something
that’s needed on the web, someone with some originality!

    1. Thank you Fatima. I appreciate that you noticed that my blog is about original writing and authentic reflection. Do you have any ideas for ways I could reach out to more people who are struggling in fear, depression, or anxiety? Poetry has the possibility to help them feel connected to another human and I know that connection can be a lifesaver. That is the gift I wish to give. Let me know if you have ideas. Thanks again for your support.
