Heart wide open

Today I wrote a gift for you

my pen pulled my hand along, (it is braver than I)

it knows how to lay my heart wide open,

like a prairie to the sky

nowhere to hide, expansive and still

miles from adequate for what I wish to give.

February is the month of love. I will be celebrating with love poems all month long.

  1. Oooh I love this Ali!! ❤ You are so talented.
Great idea to do love poems all month long.
Here's part of a Hafiz poem that I included at the end of my recent blog for your enjoyment 🙂
“May you forever bloom, for in the garden of my sight no flower I see can match your beauty flowering free.”
    Blessings,

  2. As Lenny Kravitz sang, “Let Love Rule”.
Love is the most beautiful and powerful thing that we can create. In times like this, we have to be strong to put love first, where it belongs.

    – wow, this is a gorgeous poem.
I love its shy yet generous heart, and bit of rhyme. Looking forward to your month of love poems! This one can be read again and again; I’ve read it many times already. Love it!
