Snapshot

image

You look but don’t see

me. Within your view

invisible to your eyes.

Discomfort or unconscious

choice. I cannot be a character

in the story of your world.

Revisit the snapshot

years later, silhouetted,

my image lives.

  1. I like Kristin’s interpretation 😀 I feel that this poem speaks of desired attention that doesn’t come your way…sometimes we just want to be recognised for a moment or more simply, loved. ‘My image lives’ Seems like a bit of a sad line, things not changing. Sometimes things just won’t go our way because it’s not meant to be. Hope you’re well, Ali. Have a good weekend 🙂

    1. Mabel, I am fascinated by your reflection of this poem. It is so interesting to hear what another reader finds in the words and in between the lines. This is why I love poetry. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Be well and make it a great day my friend.
