I am resharing this poem today in honor of National Relaxation Day. One long slow breath. Try it out.
flashlight batteries - Ali Grimshaw
Between each breath
one, maybe two seconds at most,
a tiny space of nothingness.
My passport can’t get me there.
Driving faster, running harder,
multitasking while eating lunch
working later, doing more…
no closer to my destination.
“Where would you like to travel to?” they ask.
someplace between
inhale
and exhale.

I’m inhaling, exhaling… repeat several times and travel as I close my eyes.
Loved this trip.

What a beautiful poem. If we could all learn to slow down and catch our breath. Much needed sense of mindful breathing. Thanks Ali.

You are welcome. It seems so easy to get caught up in a swirl of movement and the fast paced energy of those around me.

Isn’t it great to be able to take a vacation any time, any place. This is a lovely reminder of this ever-present gift we have.

Exhausting, and then exhilarating, and relaxing, I shall try this, and then try again and again….I need to relax !!
