Painted leaves sing in unison
Unlike music, their song
is soundless harmony.
This orchestra of color
soothes the tempo
an internal pounding
from a day of instruments
that refused to play
the same song.
Fall catches me
with muted volume
a serenade of equilibrium.

I enjoyed this.
We Brits can sometimes be momentarily confused by “fall” in place of “autumn”.
Though it works perfectly, here.

I can see why the word play could be confusing for you Brits. Thanks for the positive feedback. I appreciate the visit.

I like this concept of leaves making silent music – they certainly make us sing inside with their beautiful autumn colours.

Wonderful poem for Fall Equinox! And gorgeous image – such intense autumn foliage can definitely pull the mind away from all the out-of-harmony noise surrounding.
