Beside me, your mummers begin
repetition of words to form
a solid, something to hold on to.
As you hammer a picture in sound,
letters arrange in audible order
to hear who you are.
To speak building blocks, stack phrases
scaffold words of steel
structures to withstand tomorrow.
I am silent witness
to the rebuilding of yourself.

“The most visible creators are those artists whose medium is life itself. The ones who express the inexpressible ~ without brush, hammer, clay, or guitar. They neither paint nor sculpt. Their medium is simply being. Whatever their presence touches has increased life. They see, but don’t have to draw… Because they are the artists of being alive… – Donna J. Stone

I really like the way you use building metaphors of scaffolding etc to the words that build the self…
Some of us are also using bulwarks and moats… as if language is a fortress… I think you inspire me here 🙂

Bjorn, I love to inspire others. Thank you for sharing your reflection. I am curious what a moat might represent in the building of you.

A great poem! As we talk we erect our own bill board saying this is me! I love it! … and perhaps as we get older it becomes a castle with a moat!!

Good observation that words are something solid for us to hold onto.

Being that silent witness to that piece of living art is an art form in and of it’s self as well. This is brilliant.

Ali, this is beautiful. It makes me think of the sound of love coming in the words…. expressing the essence of who we are when we speak. And you seeing that as a witness. I love your poetry, and the consciousness you come from. Thank you.
Feel free to contribute a poem for #forgivingfridays. I’ll be doing another post this Friday. 💜 Keep shining!
Love,
Debbie

Debbie, as always, I appreciate your reflection. I will keep Forgiving Fridays in mind. I love the work you do to support others. Forgiveness opens doors so that the love can flow again. Who doesn’t want that?
Be well and love loud,
Ali

Hi Ali,
Sounds good! Know that I don’t want to pressure you – hope that’s clear. 🙂 I actually forgot that I asked you to contribute here when I wrote my comment on your most recent post. Blessings!! xo Light and love to you.

I think we all are “artists of being alive”. We all create our own reality, our own life. Our “selves” are a product of our own creativity.
