What if I wrote what could not be asked
the inappropriate bold words, or a question
that made you cringe slightly with wonder.
Left it on your desk, scented paper
inside an envelope that you would need to choose
to open or not, wondering who it could be from
unmarked, with just your cursive name penned upon
the front. Leaving you to hesitate with the thrill
of good or bad news to come.

Awesome post, Ali!! Loved the secretive nature of the unknown note/letter with the hint of a romantic/sensuous nature!! Bellissimo, My Dear Bellissimo!!

Thank you. It is interesting how many readers have been drawn to this poem because of the mystery. I guess that is part of human nature. I appreciate your compliments as always.

You are so very welcome! Your words were masterfully penned, Ali! No surprised they lured people in with if the way they whispered to me is any indication of others response too.

They say that curiosity killed the cat… but I would certainly be feline for such a fine letter…
but then would you fear my answer to your bold question?

I think curiosity would get the better of the person whose name is on the envelope. I know it would me. Great poem, Ali!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Ali, this feels like a story. Though it leaves much to the imagination, it’s a story unfolding. No matter the decision made regarding that envelope. There’s a story.
