Quench

Choose a small cup

simple, without handle

each hand deserves a curve of warm

the offering of this today, inhabited

it cannot help but overflow

effortlessly overcome boundaries

designed by small needs

running down the sides in abundance.

Maybe you have forgotten

how little it takes

to satisfy thirst.

  1. Hello Ali,

    “effortlessly overcome boundaries
    designed by small needs
running down the sides in abundance.”

I appreciate, in this, and in all your poetry I’ve read, the skill with which you break the flow of your educative thoughts. Very nice.

    Best wishes to you. 🙂

    1. S K Ditta, I am appreciative of your reflection. It is always interesting to hear what words resonate with a reader. This poem comes from an intentional way of living I designed for myself. I hope it inspires. Be well, Ali
