Chasing Waterfalls – Poem by Ali Grimshaw

choices round
choices flat
choices show us
where we're at

choices lead us to the door
choices call us
scream for more

choices encircle or fence some out
choices whisper
sometimes shout

It is up to you
what you find
to open up
or close your mind.

I am not sure what happened today. I never write rhyming poems.
This one wouldn't let me go.

  1. Ali, I like your rhyme. I like this, I like writing of decisions. You know, sometimes I don’t make a choice, let nature, the group, my parents or other significants, or the wind decide for me. Or I toss a coin. Of course, then my decision, my choice, would be not to make one. Sometimes it’s neglect or forgetfulness also.

  2. Always keep an open mind, one even willing to change if you find a different truth — just always go with your truth — and investigate ongoingly to have it be your truth. I Like this Ali… 🙂✌🏼❤️

    1. Rob,
I appreciate your reflection. Keeping an open mind is sometimes challenging and always worth it in my opinion. I love how poetry can support us in considering thoughts we may have not been willing to consider before.☮️
