Waiting

image

I remain

steadfast

on the shoreline

tethered, weathered

yet still afloat.

My life preserver

ready to be thrown

your way.

Waiting

for your signal.

Reach out. You could save a life.

Temporary – Poem by Ali Grimshaw

IMG_5577

Your phrases landed on the floor

between us. I didn’t know how to catch them.

Strings of words, a story of near miss.

One collection of minutes that almost

restructured my life, like petals

blown away by the wind

never again to unite in beauty.

A reminder of the impermanence of us.

Inhale

Enlight24

Breath from within me

floats out to join yours,

to settle on the brown ground beside

join the atmosphere’s chorus

sing with your exhale.

The tree we sit beneath

is not excluded

from this song.

Lightly soft it hums

new life down upon us.

Static on the radio

world leaders move their pieces,

play the game of war.

Under the tree

we continue to breathe each other.

Are you willing?

Enlight44

Beyond imagination.

Outside of your current image.

Your reflection lies in the eyes of others.

The eyes of those that surround

looking back at you.

See yourself there

to know where you are heading.

Regretting

IMG_5527

Sometimes a regret comes back to life

to emerge as a poem

morphing as it translates into words

pain blossoming

on a single stem.

Each petal overlapping

some parts me

some parts you

forming an image fixed in time

an elixir of us

I drink in

to set us both free.

Awakening

Enlight38

My eyes upon

what my body can do

in this now.

Gratitude for fingers that write.

Legs that walk me into the world.

A hand that can hold yours.

This migrating temple I possess.

A shell washed clean on sand

Your lips brushed across mine.

The aliveness that quickens.

Awe to wake up again.

Harmonize

Interference

Processed with VSCO with c6 preset

My head sits

on cords of screaming tension

inability to relax into

whirl of busyness, cyclone

of storms around my being

interference between me

and the presence

I wish to give you.

Please forgive my current cloudiness.

Blow this weather to the corner of the room.

I want to sit with you.

“What is the state of your heart?”

Inspired by  – “Let us insist on a type of human-to-human connection where when one of us responds by saying, “I am just so busy,” we can follow up by saying, “I know, love. We all are. But I want to know how your heart is doing.” “
