Even without
a roadmap
I can follow
the song
of my
heart’s direction.
Sing along
while keen
to its increase.
Turning
in time
so as not to
lose the melody.
Ears intent on
wholeness of being
following
fulfilling
fondly
easing my ache
of confusion.

I discovered a new word, thank you. That last line of your poem was a surprise but life sometimes is just like that.

Isn’t it inspiring to learn a new word? I just adore this one.
Thanks for your reflection. Surprise endings do mirror life so much of the time.
Have a beautiful day.

You make it sound easy!
I have spurts of such, but hard to sustain … maybe whispering a mantra of coddiwomple repeatedly will keep me moving forward … has a delightful sound to it!

There are many different variations of heartsongs to follow. Maybe you are just following different melodies at different times. Thanks for the visit, Jazz

I love Old English words, especially the ones still in existence, that you hear from countryfolk; we have plenty here in Norfolk. Coddiwomple is a fine example, and a great way to convey the feeling of following the song of your heart’s direction, Ali! I like the gentle alliteration, like whistling along to the song, in:
‘following
fulfilling
fondly
easing my ache
of confusion’.

Kim, I appreciate your thoughtful response. I wasn’t too sure about the combination of those words but I decided to follow my heartsong and go with it.
Wishing you a beautiful day.

It is so fitting. I sent retirement packet in today. I’m too young, it’s not enough money, and I have no idea what I’m going to do. I am so excited! I am coddiwompling to unknown adventures!

We are indeed living parallel lives. I I am also between an amazing career and the next —— but definitely not retired yet.
