"The decision we face is not to chart the perfect way forward; it is simply to embark on a journey. Once we’ve taken a step forward, the work will teach us where to take a second step, and then a third, and so on. Purpose does not reveal itself to those sitting safely at the starting block. In other words, you don’t plan your way into finding your purpose. You live into it.”

I guess I can't call it an accident
it's time to admit, intentionality.
Claiming my inner poet five years ago
(a birthday gift to myself) has led to this
my 500th post. I would have given up
sharing, long ago, if it hadn't been for you
you reading, then reflecting back
your thoughts in return.
Knowing the aloneness of darkness
I started with the desire
to reach just one
share my flashlight
sit beside and just listen
and listen some more.
These years have brought your voices
on the breeze, across seas,
stanzas have sailed, flown
and walked themselves
beyond boundaries,
I have heard your hearts.
Together we are rewriting
a world through poetry.
Thank you for being a part of my journey.
I am here to serve you in yours.
I would love to write with you and hold space for your words.

What a beautiful acknowledgment of poetry and this poetry itself. You are indeed how I see you is with his very loving flashlight that allows us to feel and find the sparks in our hearts. Congratulations my friend, wish you continued joy. 500 poems is beyond amazing, but then it is you so sounds perfect.
Pragalbha,
Thank you for celebrating with me. It is easy for steps in life to go unnoticed. I wanted to look back on this intentional journey and celebrate all of the steps along the way. I have met so many people in the blogosphere. I am grateful to meet you through your writing.
Take care of your heart.
It’s been a wee while since I’ve stopped by, how lovely to stop by and read these lovely words in 500th, my favourite line is, “Together we are rewriting a world through poetry.”!
Wonderful, Ali! Your post sent me looking backward … I’m coming up on 6 years of blogging … love “claiming my inner poet” – I remember the angst associated with figuring our WP logistics and also the conviction that my poems needed to go somewhere beyond my files! So glad we both got started, and connected.
It takes courage to put your poems out there in the blogosphere. I am so glad you did and that our paths have crossed. You have inspired me along the way.
Take care of your heart.
Ali
Congratulations on 500, Ali. The people you have touched with your words and with your skilled leadership and facilitation of the writing circles is a beautiful gift for us all.
Thank you for reminding me that we wouldn’t have met if I had chosen to keep my poems to myself. It just goes to show, you never know until you try, what joy you may find in the people you will meet a long the way.
Congratulations Ali on your 500th 👏👏 love your words.
