No Recording Exists – Poem by Ali Grimshaw

a fantasy figment fell
from the clouds

bounced off my head
into my heart

singing, I followed the
feeling of companionship

neighbors heard my song
dropped their projects
flung their phones
joined jubilance

parading down the street
we were something together

one gleeful song

  1. The whole piece has a beautiful cadence. I especially loved “singing, I followed the
feeling of companionship.” I felt the connectivity to our surroundings in that line. Just beautiful, Ali!

  2. Well, I’m not a fan of poems (because I can’t understand them). But this one is sweet and deserves a like.
P.S. If my neighbors hear me singing, they will start searching for headphones! 😂

    1. I host a twice monthly singing group at my home just to sing together. Yes I think we would all be better off with more singing in our lives. Thanks for stopping bye☮️

  3. Oh how I love the idea of a figment dropping out of the sky and ending up with people so joyfully and raucously and happily singing in a parade! Wouldn’t that be amazing if it could happen! What a wonderful figment to think about….can you make it so??? 🙂
