You have landed
in your own pond
sending out rings
your circles overlapping those of
other rocks who have taken the plunge.
I cannot see the ripples
you will make in others’ lives.
Yet, I know they exist. As I have
felt your wholeness in our embrace.
I see you time and again, resurfacing.
The shine in your eyes,
never to be the same
only brighter.

BEAUTIFUL, Ali. I just noted that I had neglected to follow, so that oversight is now rectified. I will now be reminded to read more of your lovely work.

Thank YOU for writing them, and for your appreciation of my own (not quite as eloquent as yours, but hopefully helpful to folks who are struggling).
btw- I chuckle every time I see the name of your blog. Batteries are the item I most often leave off my shopping list, so it seems I am frequently out when I need to replace them in something. 🙂
Not the intent of your metaphor, I realize, but a great reminder none-the-less. 🙂

If you go to my about page you can find my poem called flashlight batteries. This was the first poem I wrote for this blog and where the name comes from. Glad the name is helpful and adds humor to your day. : )
