They called her crazy an attempt to freeze her with jeers, never understanding that she chose to avoid too much comfort. Empathy would always be her closest friend. Arm in arm, they would walk in sandals through November frost. Warmed only by desire for connection. A step toward those who had no shoes. © Ali Grimshaw 2020

Why not sandals in November? I once did this at work and what a time I had trying to explain myself! I just liked the sandals, they matched my outfit. A powerful message skilfully delivered!

Beautiful and thought-provoking and sad all together. We just often don’t know why a person might choose to wear sandals in November, do we?

Wow, empathy physically and emotionally, but of course, most people don’t understand and don’t wish to understand.

Each of us chooses a path. Some step toward understanding the paths that others take and some have yet to become curious about why some live differently. Thank you for sharing your reflection. It is always appreciated.
