No Plug-in Needed – Poem by Ali Grimshaw

during darkest of seasons
I tinsel you with light
my face giving its full glow

your apple-cheeks of radiance
champions of joy for
encounters with newcomers,

or friends. Christmas tree
or not. I will decorate you
with loveshine.

Not a bulb between us unlit.

  1. There’s so much to absorb and love in the brevity of 44 words….”apple cheeks of radiance”, “loveshine”…”Not a bulb between us unlit.” I love it. Keep your light shining, Ali. 🙂

  2. What a pleasure to read a quadrille so rife with joy and light. With another war brewing here at home, and in several other places on the globe, it is hard to remember the happiness of fellowship; thanks for reminding us.

  3. Ali…I love this. The visual image of the beautiful picture seems a prelude to the images created in me as I read and felt my way through the words of the poem. What a lovely journey! Thank you, my friend. ❤️🎄
