Begin – Poem by Ali Grimshaw

pull the small metallic triangle
tear through troubles
until tingle arrives
until you are fully unwrapped
leaving anxious ribbons
tinseled tension
trailed behind

bare-skinned, beaming, braver
than the last version
greet your new shadow-self
welcome possibilities

many stones of adventure
lay at your feet

  1. I rather like the “stones of adventure” at our feet. Also am fascinated by your blog’s title and tagline–very clever and inviting! Thanks for visiting my blog…where things are both light and dark.

  2. This is such a wondrous, positive poem, Ali. It’s the invitation to begin anew.

    Perfect photo, too.

    1. Mish, thank you for reflecting back. Beginning again is an important part of living passionately. Poetry helps me find a way to begin again.
Thank you for the prompt. It got me writing.
