Thanks, Sanaa. I am sorry I couldn’t make it to the open link event. Sometimes my body does not want to cooperate. Thank goodness I can still connect to the other poets through blogging.
Be well.
Your poem is a reflection of the profound beauty found in the web of existence and the power of wonder to unravel life’s mysteries. It invites us to be present, to embrace change, and to appreciate the interconnectedness that binds us all. A stunning piece that captures the heart and mind. 🍃🌌🌠
Kim,
Thank you for reflecting back the lines that spoke to you. I am always curious about that. I slept through the Open Link Gathering this morning. Disappointing but my body needed the rest.
…the back of the chair supporting me
as my weight is upon it… these are such beautiful words, Ali! I love your poetry as it is deep but understandable. I often find that if you can apply yourself in the right way, you’ll be able to work out the subtleties in the poetry that others might otherwise miss. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day 🙂 Aiva xx
Aiva,
Thanks for taking time with my words to find the deeper meanings. I use simple wording to express wonderings but my wonderings aren’t simple.
Do you have any travel suggestions for Croatia? Let me know.
Thanks for your continued support.

Hi, Ali 🙂 One thing I’ve heard about Croatia is if you plan on visiting its beautiful beaches and swimming – Croatia’s beaches are beautiful but rocky – expect pebbles rather than sand – and you need to watch out for sea urchins. Therefore it’s advised to bring aqua shoes. Also – don’t forget to pack sunscreen for your trip. The sun here can be extreme – don‘t underestimate it, even under cloud cover. I hope this helps. Have a wonderful day 🙂 Aiva xx
The opening line is such a hook! 😍 A wonderfully thought-provoking poem ❤️❤️

A good question, Ali, and great answers, particularly:
‘the trusted walls enclosing me
as I hold space for myself to be
outside my window weighted limbs layered with frost’.

Like Twilight’s bookends Ali …
“Twilight’s Bookends”
Cloud wisps creep
across a sun-streaked sky
The curtain soundlessly drops
on dappled twilight
There, behind flickering drapes
the starry starry night awaits

My pleasure Ali … I wrote an Epigram this morning … I think? … but I’m not sure … I think the format is fairly open to interpretation …
“Our Blushing Star (an Epigram)”
When I see an evening sky alight
I wish upon our blushing Star
With all my imaginable might
For peace to be our only Avatar
