Without our ever noticing, the heart absorbs the joy of things and also their pain and care. Within us, therefore, a burdening can accrue. For this reason, it is wise now and again to tune in to your heart and listen for what it carries.

along the path of daily breathing
to hear my heart’s needs
saturation of all to be felt

(all muscles need rest to continue lifting)

I sit inside a song of silence
listening for imaginings of the heart
possibilities of becoming

dreams beyond my thinking

  3. A lovely reflection and moment of slowing down, Ali. I really like listening to your heart for ‘possibilities of becoming’. In stillness and silence, the heart can reveal much to us – including what is influencing us and what we desire. Lovely photo to accompany your words. It looks like such a tranquil path.       Great to hear from you. This photo was taken on my trip to Croatia in 2023.
      Pausing in meditation is one of the things that keeps me going in this ever changing world.

        These days I find inspiration when I take things slow and in quiet spaces. Sometimes it’s easier said than done, and I really appreciate when I find creative inspiration 😊

  7. “all muscles need rest to continue lifting” – and the heart is perhaps the most important muscle in the body. Take time to sit silent, and listen to the imaginings of the heart. My synopsis here of this beautiful reflection/poem you’ve posted.
