Knee deep in, “I can’t believe I said that.”
Toes numbed by the cold reality
while echoed words play inside your head.
Let the current caress errors of grime
wash away the mistaken mud of this day
to return to the raw, tender tingle.
Step out onto the bank of clean sheets
let new beginnings drip from your feet.

What a great image! Sometimes we do need something to wash away the mistakes and misdoings that we spend so much time fretting over.

I am intrigued by the notion of self forgiveness to create a fresh start. It is never as easy as it sounds. Have a beautiful week Ann.

Oh I love this poem Ali….. I’m so missing the crisp cleansing of the surf beach.

Thanks for letting me know Ivor. I hope you can return to the beach soon. The sound of crashing waves is one of my favorites.

I used to swim through the waves, with a splash and crash, pure exhilaration

Beautiful. Such a lovely way to unfold an experience we can all relate to. Let go. Be here now. The past is just that, past. Lovely!
