As we stand together the ocean’s roar a comfort lullaby of constant. You squeeze my hand. I echo the motion in return. Reliable rolling waves, we count on when the world is crashing. © Ali Grimshaw 2017

I know that place.
Want to go there,
feel its deep wet rhythm again…
But
perhaps also
feel the hug of distant words.

There is no place quite like the Oregon coast. The waves crash with the sound of home

The ocean truly is a “lullaby of constant ” (I love that line). Wish I was there right now! Lovely poem, Ali.

Betty,
Thanks for reflecting back the words that spoke to you. The ocean is such a gift. I am grateful to have had many walks and runs on the Oregon Coast. It is soul nourishing.
Take care.

I too love the Oregon Coast beaches (as well as Washington beaches). My son and his wife were married on the beach down there in Newport — at high tide, with a full moon yet! It was amazingly atmospheric.
Wishing you all the best for the New Year, Ali!
