Like the filthy inside out sock
squished at the bottom of the hamper
under stench of damp rags.
Life can feel like that place.
Maybe it is time to do some laundry.
There is no rule, no prize for
handling it alone,
an unnecessary isolation.
The borrowed red sweatshirt
arms wide on the top of the mound
is not an accidental reminder of love.
Call. Just call.
Call before you change your mind.
That someone has seen dirt before
and will listen.

Thank you for your reflection Kirsten. I am not surprised that this part spoke to you. You are a reminder of love wherever you go.

I love your laundry metaphor, I actually carved out some time yesterday to do some overdue laundry and I feel so much better, it cleared some space in my tangled thoughts allowing me to take a breath…thank you for sharing!

It’s always nice to have someone to share the load and be there to help.
